Interview with OG | mAus

Background

1. When did you start playing ET, and how did you get into it?

Was introduced to ET around 2006 by my older brother, we played it during our studying breaks.

2. What's your most memorable moment so far in your ET history, and why?

CPC2 lan where I made my first big ET attendance after being accused of being a cheater online. All the big 2008 names where sitting behind me and it made me so nervous I almost shit myself. Cherry on top is that we won that lan and I took the MVP award.

3. What do you feel is the most important skill in terms of contributing to winning in ET?

In 2023 it is putting your ego aside and help the team where it lacks. Damage & kills mostly depend on the position you get on each stage and map, people seem to forget that.

4. How does it feel to be the captain of OG and to compete in the LAN event?

It feels great going to lan with 5 guys that have the need to feel intoxicated each hour of the day.

The Team at LAN

5. What is your confirmed lineup and the roles of the players?

Poland dialer (last man standing), Germany blade (yolo), Poland wut (speed cannon), Finland tony (taking people full), Belgium chry (we don't know), Belgium maus (try to aim like 2008 but failing)

6. How did the team come together?

last minute lan team

7. What's your goal at LAN? Is there a finishing position you are targeting?

be in the final, and perhaps take it home

8. What would you say was your best performance as a team to date?

new team, so I would say each new day we prac

9. Who on your team is most likely to miss their flight and turn up late to LAN?

I guess Belgium chry will flee to albania again last minute or be in jail...

10. How do you prepare for games?

prac like it is 2008, we have less games compared to other teams so we try to catch up

11. What has been your team's biggest challenge leading up to the LAN event, and how have you been working to overcome it?

ego: shit talking eachother and being open about it helps. Running solo because you think you can clear the stage on your own.

Predictions

12. Of the teams signed up for the LAN event, what is your prediction for the final rankings?

based on recent scrims I would say the top 3 lan positions are completely unpredictable, Europe elysium/ Belgium v56/ Europe OG.

13. Who are you most looking forward to meeting at LAN and why?

all the people who are not intoxicated (so nobody from my team)

14. Which player do you think is the most likely to drink so much that they will not be able to play the next day?

not a player, but I guess all my teammates

15. Are there any particular matchups you are looking forward to?

Would be great to get revenge on elysium in the final

The Opposition

16. Out of the opposition players, who is the most difficult to play against, in your opinion?

all the players who move like cocaine addicts

17. Which team do you think is most likely to pleasantly surprise people (dark horse pick)?

cat could be a big surprise if they attack as a team instead of going one by one.

18. Which opposition player do you feel is most underrated?

insane, he has the potential to break the whole game open with one single action

The Future

19. What does the future hold for you and the team following LAN?

/quit and cu next lan

20. If you could make one change to the game, what would it be?

throw syringes to have faster gameplay

21. Are there any maps outside the current eight maps at LAN you would like to see in future tournaments?

anything but decay

22. Any last words?
